12 Celebs Who Are Still Too Difficult To Work With

Celebrities, in general, have a reputation for being too demanding and expecting people to fulfill their ridiculous requests. While this notion is often played up in movies and TV shows for comedic purposes, there are some famous people who truly think the world revolves around them. Granted, there are individuals around these celebrities, including some friends and family members, who have enabled this mentality. However, that doesn’t mean the behavior is any less immature and annoying.

As some celebrities spend more time in Hollywood and realize that they could be replaced at any given moment by someone who is younger and hotter, they start to become more humble and gracious. And, believe it or not, some famous people actually mature and learn that arrogance is unappealing, and is actually a form of insecurity. Still, there are some celebrities who are still prone to throwing tantrums and having breakdowns when they don’t have the right type of candy in their dressing rooms. These famous people are almost as well known for their entitled attitudes as they are for their actual work, and that’s really not a great reputation to have. Sure, Hollywood agents may argue that all press is good press, but no celebrity wants to have the reputation of being too hard to please. Here are 12 celebs who are still too difficult to work with.

12. Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis has been in the business for decades, so you would think he would have learned how to behave on a movie set by now. However, Willis has a reputation for being cold and standoffish when he’s working on movies, even though he seems to have a friendly disposition during interviews. One of his Cop Out co-stars, Kevin Smith, said that Bruce was “soul crushing” to work with. It must be pretty devastating to look up to an actor and finally get the chance to work with him, only to find out that he’s kind of a huge jerk—even after all these years.

11. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez has pretty much been a star since her breakout role as a Fly Girl on the 1990s variety show In Living Color. Since then, she’s gone on to star in movies, maintain a successful music career, own a production company and become a fashion mogul. Granted, she’s got a lot to brag about. However, Lopez also seems to think that it’s OK for her to throw tantrums when things in her dressing room aren’t perfect, according to reports. Some of the individuals who have worked with Jennifer have even stated that she refuses to perform until her demands are met. Perhaps we now have some insight into why none of Lopez’s marriages lasted.

10. Megan Fox

Megan Fox is proof that being hot doesn’t make you exempt from getting a negative reputation in Hollywood. It’s no secret that Fox and director Michael Bay didn’t get along too well during the filming of Transformers. Megan referred to Michael as “Hitler” and complained that the work conditions were unacceptable. It was alleged that she was a huge diva on set, and Bay eventually ended up firing her. Luckily, Megan is a pretty decent actress and got a new role on the Fox show New Girl. From what we can tell, she seems to be getting along pretty well with everyone. Hopefully, for her sake, things will stay that way.

9. Gwyneth Paltrow

The movie actress, daughter of actress Blythe Danner and ex-wife of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is apparently pretty difficult to be around. However, according to reports, Paltrow only behaves this way in the presence of people who are “competition.” People have stated that on the set of Iron Man 2, Gwyneth didn’t even speak to co-star Scarlett Johansson, while the two were filming the movie. Gwyneth also has a tendency to make people feel awkward and uncomfortable, especially if it seems like she’s not the star of the show. This, in addition to being pretentious and overly exclusive when it comes to making friends, certainly doesn’t paint Paltrow in a very positive light.

8. Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen wasn’t always so difficult to work with. Well, social media wasn’t around when he got his start, so perhaps people weren’t able to find out how terrible Sheen’s work ethic was. When he had creative differences with Chuck Lorre, the creator of Two And a Half Men, the story was at the forefront of the media, and Sheen was eventually fired. Charlie then went on to star in the sitcom Anger Management, but he requested that his co-star Selma Blair be fired, after Blair complained that Sheen was a “menace to work with.” Charlie Sheen recently announced to the world that he is HIV positive, and has started the process of changing his bad boy image.

7. Madonna

Madonna is known for being a diva, and she commands the stage each time she performs. However, Madonna has also appeared in movies, but has a reputation for being hard to work with. Directors often say that Madonna doesn’t want to take direction, which contributes to the lackluster performance she often gives in films. After all, Madonna is used to being in charge when it comes to anything she does with her career, and it’s very likely that she feels that people who ask her to be in movies are “lucky to have her.” Madonna is also known for doing everything she can to get attention, which probably goes over just as badly on camera as it does on stage.

6. Lindsay Lohan

The former Disney child star has a reputation for being hard to work with, mainly because it’s a challenge to get her to actually show up for work. Most Hollywood execs haven’t complained too much about Lohan’s attitude, but she has a reputation for being unprofessional because she shows up late to work and doesn’t remember her lines. Lohan’s partying days have been significantly reduced these days, but her Canyons co-star James Deen, has referred to her as a “child lashing out.” Perhaps those mood swings are due to withdrawals, or maybe Lohan still has some emotional issues to work out. Then again, both of these factors probably play a role in her behavior.

5. Lea Michele

There have long been rumors floating around that actress Lea Michele was the “diva” of the Glee cast. She often got exasperated when it was taking too long for her to perform her part of a scene, and she was even called a “nightmare” by guest star Kate Hudson, which for most Hudson fans, pretty much confirms that Michele is difficult to work with. There have also been reports that Lea Michele isn’t very nice to waiters when she’s dining out, and can be pretty rude when she’s not getting her food “fast enough.” Michele comes across as sweet and innocent in interviews, but she may just be showing us how talented of an actress she actually is.

4. Jennifer Aniston

It’s pretty ironic that an actress who was the star of a show called Friends could be so cold and distant. There have been reports that Jennifer Aniston is pretty antisocial on set, but apparently, she’s able to turn on the charm as soon as the cameras start rolling. Even though Aniston and Brad Pitt broke up years ago, there are still rumors that Jennifer’s bad attitude is what drove Pitt away. Even though Aniston is a huge star, there’s a good chance that directors and producers are a little apprehensive about hiring her because of her tendency to treat others as though they are beneath her.

3. Mike Myers

Comedic actor Mike Myers has been in Hollywood for decades now, and is still known for his roles in Wayne’s World and the Austin Powers movies. However, the Canadian funnyman is a perfectionist in real life, and cast and crew members state that he’s pretty difficult to work with. That’s somewhat of a disappointment for Myers’ fans, who likely imagine that he is upbeat all the time. There have also been rumors that he’s a control freak, and has to have everything his way when he’s working on a project. Looks like Myers, who recently did a funny commercial for Sears (his brother is a corporate professional there), isn’t as funny as we thought.

2. Katherine Heigl

After Katherine Heigl bad-mouthed her former boss Shonda Rhimes, by saying that the script for Grey’s Anatomywasn’t that great, she got a lot of bad press. Heigl got the reputation of being difficult and when she was anti-social and way too serious on the set of Knocked Up (according to co-star Seth Rogen), she definitely didn’t help to improve the public’s perception of her. Katherine hasn’t been as visible in Hollywood lately, which may be a way to get the public to forget that she has the tendency to be an overly critical brat. Some of Heigl’s former co-stars say that she’s hard-working, but this could just be another way of distracting the public.

1. Chevy Chase

Even though actor and comedian Chevy Chase got his start on Saturday Night Live, he is banned from ever working on the show again, and is the only cast member, present or former, to hold that “distinction.” Chase has a reputation for being verbally abusive on set, and during an SNL rehearsal, he slapped actress Cheri Oteri in the back of the head. Co-star Will Ferrell saw this, and complained to Lorne Michaels, the creator of SNL. Chase then went on to appear on the show Community, but was gradually written out of the show because of his constant racial slurs. He also continued to get in fights with the creator of Community, Dan Harmon. Chevy Chase may be a legend, but we’re not sure if anyone will be hiring him any time soon.
