42 Injured When Railing Collapses At Snoop Dogg And Wiz Khalifa Concert
Dozens of people were injured during a Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa concert when a railing gave way at BB&T Pavillion in Camden, New Jersey on Friday night.
Snoop Dogg and Khalifa were performing a song between the permanent seats and the back lawn section of the venue at around 10:30 pm. The lawn section is elevated a few feet above a concrete path and is blocked off with a metal railing. It appears too much pressure was put on the railing and it simply collapsed, causing a group of people to tumble over the edge and onto the harsh unforgiving concrete below.
The number of people reportedly injured varies between 15 and 42. Most of the injuries were fairly minor but a few people did suffer broken bones. Several concertgoers captured video of the collapse.
Snoop and Khalifa were about halfway through the show when the railing collapsed. The two performers were whisked away by security and the rest of the show was canceled.
You can see in the photo above the stage where Snoop and Khalifa had been performing. Yellow caution tape is blocking off the section of the railing that gave way.
Please don’t let this one incident sour what I assume are lovely warm fuzzy feelings you all hold for the great state of New Jersey.
