Forget about the holidays for a second and check out the grossest things ever found in the human body! (And then, when your awkward family visits and asks what you’re up to these days, you can show them this and guarantee that they’ll never speak to you again!)

Squid spermatophores in mouth

A 63-year-old South Korean woman felt something “spreading” in her mouth after eating some partially cooked squid at a restaurant. When the sensation didn’t go away, she visited a doctor who found small white spindle-shaped bug-like organisms called spermatophores in her mouth. Yeah, that’s right — a squid basically attempted to impregnate this woman’s mouth. So who wants seafood?!

Botfly larvae in eye

A five-year-old boy in Honduras felt a bug in his eye (as you do), but this kid didn’t just have any bug in his eye — he had a botfly (that Jabba the Hutt-looking thing pictured above). Botflys happen to be parasitic, aaaaand this particular horror laid eggs in the boy’s eye. Doctors had to remove it surgically. (Feel like throwing up yet? Good! We’re only two in!)

Fish in a bladder

This fish might not look like the grossest thing on this list, but what if I told you that it swam up a kid’s d*ck? Yep, an Indian boy was cleaning a fish tank when this two centimeter-long fish entered his urethra and made it all the way up to his bladder. It had to be surgically removed, and going to the beach was never the same. :/

Eel in intestines

A Chinese man was “inspired” by a pornographic film and decided to insert a live, 20-inch-long eel into his anus. The eel chewed through the man´s colon in an attempt to escape (you know, because it’s not like the eel WANTED to partake in this man’s sick sexual exploits). It perforated the man’s large intestine and got stuck in his body cavity. Doctors were able to remove the eel, but the man suffered from severe internal bleeding. Um… karma?

Cockroach in ear

An Australian man named Hendrik Helmer thought a spider might have gotten inside his ear when he started experiencing excruciating pain. (A casual occurrence in Australia, obvs). It actually turned out to be a two and a half centimeter-long cockroach, which a doctor eventually removed with tweezers. (Is your ear feeling a little itchy?)

Well, if your ear wasn’t itchy, it will be now. In 2012, a woman checked into a hospital complaining of an irritated ear. After looking inside, doctors found a four-eyed, fur-covered spider with barbed-feet that had been inside the woman’s ear for five days. (You wanna check that ear now, don’t ya?)

Your own goddamn twin

By far the grossest thing a person can find in their body is their own twin, living off of them parasitically. In 1999, Sanju Bhagat thought his belly was getting bigger because he wasn’t exercising, but it turns out it was actually his twin trying to kill him by living inside his stomach. The twin, which had grown hands and feet, had to be removed surgically. Maybe your family isn’t so bad after all.
