Adult Website Confirms Data Leak And All Users Are At Risk
A major porn site has confirmed a security breach after hackers illegally tore into the online user database.
The personal details of 180,000 users having been stolen and uploaded to the web.
Among those targeted were 19 government email addresses and 68 military accounts.
The Candid Board, an online platform notorious for pornographic ‘upskirt’ photographs of women, has been compromised in the hacking activities which took advantage of a misconfigured database, according to IB Times.
The personal data stolen by hackers includes browsers’ usernames, dates of birth, IP addresses and their last login time.
In this unlawful breach of visitor privacy, 180,000 users have had their browsing histories of the fetish site – which particularly focuses on sexual voyeurism – accessed and shared.
Although obtained in September 2015, the stolen information has only just been published by HavelBeenPwned, a breach notification website. Only verified users can currently see the list of users.
Troy Hunt, HavelBeenPwned’s site manager told IBTimes:
It’s amazing how much personal data people will entrust sites of this nature with.
Members provided accurate email addresses and birth dates which combined with their IP address now very clearly ties them back to a site of very questionable legal status.
All the victims are site subscription holders who pay $19.99 a month. The leaked data has now been secured.
The Candid Board compromise follows attacks to major porn sites xHamster and Brazzers as well as infidelity site Ashley Madison.
