An Insane Recreation Of How Two Pilots Attempted To Push Their Plane To Its Limit And Ended Up Crashing

Pinnacle Airlines Flight 3701 is a case study in what not to do when piloting a plane.

One reply on “An Insane Recreation Of How Two Pilots Attempted To Push Their Plane To Its Limit And Ended Up Crashing”

Called it. Autopilot on when it shouldn’t have been. Then diddled about when they should have dived hard.

They should have recognised core lock (non moving parts of the turbine cool faster than the moving parts at altitude and the turbine seizes.) After core lock, you can’t restart, even with APU power and they wasted too much time on engine starts that could have been used gliding.

Also, when ATC makes glib comments, it’s their way of saying hey don’t you realise that’s stupid?
