Calling Dr. Love…Gene Simmons Takes A Fall On Stage During Kiss Concert

It was a moment straight out of This Is Spinal Tap. During Kiss‘ concert last night (July 17) at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman, Mont., Gene Simmons took a fall on stage.

As you can see in the video above, the slip happened during the show’s closing number, “Rock and Roll All Nite.” Shortly after Tommy Thayer began his guitar solo, Simmons stepped away from the microphone and, next thing you know, he’s on his backside. Fortunately, an alert roadie rushed onto the stage and helped him to his feet within seconds.

Quite frankly, given the size of his platform boots, we’re surprised this hasn’t happened more often over the years. Neither his nor Kiss’ official Twitter feeds made any reference to the incident, so we’ll assume he did not sustain any injuries. But if he had, he could always call Dr. Love.

Kiss began their Freedom to Rock tour on, fittingly, the Fourth of July at Casino del Sol in Tuscon, Ariz. As they’ve done on several recent tours, they’re honoring the sacrifices made by the men and women in the armed services by selecting a veteran to work on their road crew each night, with CPT Nick Neustrom being chosen for yesterday’s show.

if your a fan, they’ll be on the road through Sept. 10, when they wrap up at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, W.V., and you can get all the dates at the tour section of Kiss’ website.

From the video, it looks like he didn’t miss a beat.  ROCK ON GENE!
