Chilling Confession Of Britain’s Youngest Murderers After Sickening Crime

A judge has lifted a ban on identifying two of Britain’s youngest double-murderers.

It has been revealed Kim Edwards and her boyfriend Lucas Markham, murdered Edwards’ mother Elizabeth, 49, and her younger sister Katie, 13, at their home in Spalding, Lincolnshire, in April last year.

The killers, both 14 at the time, were sentenced in November – but now, a bid to stop their names being made public has been rejected in the High Court.

The couple, who remained at the house after the horrific killings, had sex, shared a bath and watched the Twilight films.

They were jailed for ‘at least’ 20 years each, but judges have since reduced the sentences to 17 and a half years.

Markham used a kitchen knife to stab both victims in the neck as they slept. He admitted killing Elizabeth and Katie but Edwards, who was heard to have helped plan the killings, denied murder.

The teenagers, who were jailed for life at Nottingham Crown Court in November, were discovered and arrested at the home Edwards shared with her mother and sister 36 hours later having been reported missing.

She says:

He was on top of her like with a like pillow over her head…. I thought I heard her say get off me but I’m not entirely sure, erm er then after about 10 minutes of Lucas…putting his weight on her…. she was dead like…..(sic).

Edwards then goes on to tell the police she carried out the horrific crime because she thought her mum favoured her younger sister.

She added:

The fact that it happened so quickly that like gave me peace of mind cos like, you know, it wasn’t like torture or anything so. (sic)

She also said her 13-year-old sister’s death meant she didn’t have to go through ‘heartbreak’ and ’emotions’.

BBC reported the ban on naming the teenagers was lifted on December 8, but their identities have remained a secret until now in order to allow their lawyers to appeal against the ruling.

The ban was lifted by Sir Brian Leveson, Mr Justice Blake and Mr Justice Lewis.

Sir Brian said:

In the circumstances of this case, notwithstanding that the appellants are only 15 years of age, we have no doubt that the lifting of reporting restrictions is in accordance with law, pursues a legitimate aim and is a reasonable and proportionate measure … properly balancing the welfare of the appellants … against the Article 10 rights of the press and the interests of the public.

PLEASE NOTE A FOURTH PERSON HAS BEEN DIGITALLY REMOVED FROM THIS PICTURE.
Liz Edwards (C) with daughter Katie Edwards (R) who were both found dead in their house in Spalding after being murdered by Kim Edwards (L). A dinner lady stabbed to death in her bed was killed by her own 14-year-old daughter and her boyfriend, it can be revealed for the first time today. See NTI story NTIMURDER. Elizabeth Edwards, 49, and 13-year-old daughter Katie were slaughtered as they slept at their home in Spalding, Lincolnshire in April last year before their killers watched vampire show Twilight. It can be reported today that their killers were Ms Edwards’ own daughter, Kim, and her tearaway boyfriend Lucas Markham and their crime was motivated by petty jealousy. Kim claimed her mother ‘loved my sister more’ and treated her like an ‘angel’. She said her sister ‘got all the fuss’ and ‘took my mother away from me’.

Det Supt Martin Holvey, of Lincolnshire Police, said the ‘horrific and brutal’ murders had shocked the local community and naming killers would only add to that.

He commented:

I’m sure that sense of disbelief and horror will be deepened now it is known that it was Elizabeth’s own daughter who was responsible for plotting with her boyfriend to carry out the murders.

Chilling.
