This Clever Optical Illusion Looks Like A Painting

If you were to see only pictures of artist Michael Murphy’s work, you might think he produced abstracted black and white paintings. But there’s more than meets the eye (sorry) here:

Murphy’s works, which use balls or other shapes that hang from the ceiling, often hone in on the theme of gun violence, as in “Damage”:
