Cooking steak is easy, you throw some salt and pepper on it, grill that beast on high, flip repeat, boom, right? Wrong. Your steaks should be a reflection of you who are as a person and if that’s how you cook a tender piece of meat, then you’re undoubtedly a terrible person.

However, If you would like to learn how to cook the perfect steak, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has a few tips for you.

In this useful video, he breaks down the process into easy-to-follow steps that anyone can replicate at home—from seasoning the meat to resting the slabs on their sides in the pan to cook them evenly.

“I want to teach you how to cook good food at home. By stripping away all the hard graft and complexity, anyone can produce mouth-watering recipes. Put simply, I’m going to show you how to cook yourself into a better cook.”

Though the video was shot years ago for his book, Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Cookery Course,  a steak’s a steak, nothing’s changed, except maybe Gordon’s anger level. He’s angrier now
