Couple Arrested After Allegedly Drugging And Raping Woman At Sundance
On Friday, the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Soho couple Anne Hardcastle, 27, and Michael Taylor, 45 after they were accused of drugging and assaulting a female victim in Park City, Utah back in January. According to a New York Daily News exclusive, the alleged victim, a woman in her 20s, met the couple out at a bar while the pair were in town for the Sundance Film Festival.
Prosecutors said that the couple bought the woman a few rounds of drinks and invited her to an afterparty before insisting that they make a quick stop at their hotel room. The couple then reportedly gave the victim more booze and Ecstasy before suggesting the group ditch the afterparty and just have a threesome.
At this point, the woman told prosecutors that this set off alarm bells. She texted her friends for a ride home before everything “went black.”
The woman said that she woke up next to Hardcastle in the morning, fled the room, and sought treatment for various injuries at the Park City Medical Center. According to the arrest warrants, the woman showed signs of a recent assault, including bruises, bite marks, and vaginal pain.
Hardcastle allegedly incriminated herself by connecting with the victim on Instagram and sending her a message that read “You said you liked it rough and so I gave you what you wanted.” Police then encouraged the Jane Doe to continue conversing with Hardcastle so that they could gather enough evidence for an arrest.
Hardcastle allegedly admitted she molested her, performed oral sex on her and licked her breasts, prosecutors said. She also claimed Taylor fondled the victim’s breasts and also touched her, according to the warrant
Harcastle was charged with object rape and forcible sodomy and Taylor, a former pro hockey player turned finance guy, was charged with object rape and forcible sexual abuse. The pair are being held without bail while they await extradition back to Utah.
