Police on Wednesday arrested a 29-year-old city man, charging him with dealing cocaine in the parking lot of a State Street CVS drug store while he was working there as a security guard.

Raphelle Rosario is charged with distribution of a class B substance and possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute.

According to police spokesman Ryan Walsh, undercover narcotics detectives were on an unrelated investigation when they spotted Rosario exchange drugs for money with another man in the parking lot.

They watched Rosario go back inside the store and the other man drive off in a car.

The man in the car was stopped a few blocks away and charged with possession of cocaine.

Police returned to the store and found Rosario inside. He was not an employee of the CVS but instead working for a private company hired by CVS to provide security.

Police found $595 in his possession and two bags of cocaine in Rosario’s car.
