The upset and angry dad took to Facebook in an effort to find the guilty party. All he needed was a mirror.
Jamie Ellison, a father-of-four from Gloucester, accidentally reversed over his 15-month-old son AJ while driving his daughters to school on Friday, the Mirror reports.
He completed the trip without realising the incident had occurred, and returned home to find authorities treating his son’s injuries.
Mr Ellison then launched a Facebook campaign to find what he assumed was a hit-and-run driver.
“I beg anyone who was on Hester’s Way Road between 8:30 and 8:40….doing school runs or catching a bus… to please call the police and help find who did this to my little man,” he wrote.
After the cops reviewed camera footage, they broke the news to Ellison he was the guilty one. He immediately fessed up on Facebook and explained that he’ll never been able to get over the awful mistake and the “guilt with be with him forever.”
Upon reviewing CCTV, however, local police realized the driver was Ellison.
Luckily, the kid is going to be fine.
