A new month means a new slew of movies and shows being added to Netflix. The full list of additions arriving in April is below, but first, let’s look at the most intriguing programming hitting the streaming service this month.

Boogie Nights (4/1)
Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1970s porn-star epic, which follows the well-endowed Dirk Diggler (Mark Wahlberg) and his exploits in the adult-film industry, put the auteur director on the map. Julianne Moore’s emotional turn as smut siren Amber Waves earned the actress an Oscar nomination — and so did PTA’s, um, fleshed-out script. The music and visual style are period-perfect. A fun, sexy, at times heartbreaking character study and exploration of true excess.

The Ranch: Season 1 (4/1)
Starring Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson, this new Netflix original is basically aThat ’70s Show reunion. Colt (Kutcher) returns home after his semi-pro football career fizzles out, and must rejoin brother Rooster (Masterson) and their grump of a father (Sam Elliott) to run the family ranch. Yuks and y’alls ensue.

The Shawshank Redemption (4/1)
This classic film adaptation of a Stephen King story tracks one man’s lifetime prison sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. Andy (Tim Robbins) keeps his head up despite his predicament, and overcomes the odds of life in the slammer with help from his buddy Red (peak Morgan Freeman). A tale of inspiration and, of course, redemption for the ages.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Season 2 (4/15)
It’s a miracle! Kimmy & co. return for a brand-new season of childish NYC adventures, cute animal cameos, suspensions of disbelief, and clever jokes courtesy of producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock (30 Rock). Pairs well with a generous pour of Peeno Noir.

Minions (4/24)
The movie that launched a thousand memes — a prequel of the hugely successfulDespicable Me — follows a bizarre cast of yellow blobs trying to stop a supervillain from taking over the world. With plenty of animated sight gags and Sandra Bullock voicing the big bad, we can see what all the hype’s about.

Begin Again (4/27)
Keira Knightley stars as Gretta, an expat singer-songwriter trying to make it big in New York City after her douchebag boyfriend and writing partner (Adam Levine — yes, thatAdam Levine) ditches her for stardom. Mark Ruffalo plays Dan, the washed-up record executive who pushes Gretta to record a solo album. Featuring scene-stealing cameos from Hailee Steinfeld as Dan’s tweenage-rocker daughter and James Corden as Gretta’s busker roommate, and a soundtrack stacked with standout original songs.
