Herd Of 400 Cows Trample Through A Cemetery

Shocking footage shows the moment a herd of 400 cows trampled through a cemetery, leaving a trail of damaged graves behind them.

The animals found their way in after being disturbed in a neighbouring field and smashing through a fence. The farmer responsible for the cows has agreed to cover the cost of any damage caused – and is also working to strengthen the fence.

Pete and Sue Turl were horrified when they saw the devastation while visiting family grave plots at Thornbury Cemetery in South Gloucestershire the following day. The wet weather over the weekend also meant that a number of graves appear to have sunk under the weight of the cattle.

The cows were spotted quite early in their jailbreak, and were herded back into their field within an hour – before they could cause anymore damage. Thornbury Town Council say the farmer responsible for the cows acted quickly to repair the fence and reduce the overall damage done.
