The worst destruction police have ever seen was found in this couple’s home in Calgary when they were called in to investigate noise disturbances. Mark and Star King rented their house to people they found on rental website, Airbnb but when they returned after three days, their home was destroyed. There was approximately $50,000 to $75,000 worth of damage done, which included lots of broken furniture and garbage strewn all over.

Sickening: The scenes of devastation

Urine, semen and vomit were found in a couple’s home after it was trashed by someone who rented it out online.

Mark and Star King, from Calgary, Canada, thought they’d make a little extra cash by renting out their home to four adults who said they were attending a nearby wedding.

They booked their home out using online home renting website Airbnb and went to stay with family.

But just hours after they handed off the keys on Saturday evening, a two-day party attended by dozens of people began, leaving a scene of devastation that will take up to £50,000 to repair.

“The neighbours reported a party bus and upwards of one hundred people in our house,” Mark told the Calgary Herald as he stood in his living room surrounded by rubbish, food, cigarettes and unidentifiable stains.

On Monday a neighbour called the couple, who told them the police had been called.

They arrived soon after but couldn’t enter their own home because the renters are the legal tenants under Airbnb rules.

Eventually, after the Kings begged them, the revellers left.

Inside they found stained cushions, bras, underwear, cigarettes and marijuana joint butts, discarded condoms, sauce stains

Mark said: “I couldn’t process it. This is our home, this is our sanctuary. We’ve got a five year old and a one year old, and the sense of violation … the lie that was told and the trust that I had in somebody, and then this happens.”

“When we came in, one of the police said, ‘this isn’t a party, this was a drug-induced orgy,’” he said.

Police said the man who rented the Kings’ house could be facing charges.

“We have zero tolerance for this kind of behaviour and our team is working quickly to make this right,” said Airbnb spokesman Jakob Kerr.

“We have banned this guest from Airbnb, and our trust and safety team will offer its full assistance to law enforcement in any investigation of this incident.

“We have been in very close contact with these hosts and we are working quickly to reimburse them under our $1 million host guarantee, which covers a host’s property in the rare event of damages.”
