Jared Leto Now Claiming He Was Suckered Into Doing ‘Suicide Squad’

how-jared-leto-became-the-12th-man-to-play-the-joker[1]

It looks like Jared Leto is slowly coming to terms with the fact that he publicly lost his mind for an objectively terrible movie. In his denial stage, Leto claimed that the late David Bowie inspired an interpretation of The Joker that probably more closely resembles Jim Carrey’s performance in “The Mask.” During the anger stage, Leto whined about the myriad Joker scenes that were left on “Suicide Squad’s” cutting room floor.

Apparently, Leto is still in the anger stage of the the Kübler-Ross model because he’s still lashing out at Warner Bros. over the fact that “Suicide Squad” didn’t turn out to be his “My Left Foot.” He hinted as much while unloading to fans in a Q&A session at his band’s, 30 Seconds to Mars-themed summer camp, Camp Mars.

Yeah, that’s a real thing.

According to a fan who was at the event, Leto was quite candid in his disappointment with the film. Those remarks were relayed in a now deleted post on a Leto-themed fan Tumblr. Part of the post was published on the fan site Batman News:

He was very honest about the film this weekend; his disappointment in what he’s learned of the theatrical cut (he’s still not seen the film); feeling sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently; thinking it would’ve been more artistic than what it became; feeling overwhelmed by the hate regarding the look and choices…

We’re sorry that a movie where you were playing a character dressed in last season’s overstock from Hot Topic didn’t turn out to be a Fellini-esque art film. We can see how someone would make that mistake. Maybe he should just consider himself lucky that he didn’t get charged with a sex crime after sending his coworkers used condoms while prepping for the role.

In any case, Leto was feeling extra rebellious as he mentioned that he still rock climbs even though the Warner Bros. contract forbids it in the interest of protecting the studio’s valuable human property.

What does Leto have to say about his contractual obligations? Watch the video below and marvel at that straw hat/tie-dye combo.
