How much do you love ramen noodles? Enough to strip off and bathe in them? To wrap yourself up in their noodle-y goodness?

Because that’s how much they love ramen in Japan.

Yunessan Spa House in Hakone, located in south-eastern Japan, offers relaxing ramen baths as part of its total spa experience.

The baths are filled with a ramen pork broth and synthetic noodles (they’re not allowed to use the real thing apparently – well, it would be waste). And they’re believed to be very good for the skin.

Ichiro Furuya, the owner of the spa, told Time: ‘Lately people are very concerned about having beautiful skin, and they know the effect of collagen, which is contained in our pork-based broth. At this bath, everybody can have fun and take advantage of the healthy elements of ramen noodles.’

They’re also believed to boost metabolism.

The ramen bathing spa treatment actually dates back to around 2007, but is set to really take off after a number of spas in Japan began to offer the truly unique service.

HAKONE, JAPAN - APRIL 19: Visitors enjoy the "soup noodle spa" at the Hakone Yunessun Spa on April 19, 2008 in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The spa, which has previously offered customers spa baths filled with chocolate and Beaujolais wine, is celebrating their 10 millionth visitor since their opening in 2001 with the noodle spa until June 30. And while we wait for the trend to hit the UK (it’s only a matter of time before Champneys trialling them, surely?), why not try to recreate the experience with a couple dozen Pot Noodles?

We recommend new sausage casserole flavour, for added comfort.
