Man’s Attempt To Run From Police Foiled By ‘Sagging’ Pants
A man on the run with his pants around his ankles didn’t get too far Monday morning in Chicago. Authorities tackled the man, who was seen walking on the Dan Ryan Expressway and Metro rail tracks around 6:00 a.m. (May 17). For safety reasons, as State Police, Chicago Police and transportation workers chased down the man, power was temporarily shut down to the tracks. The man was eventually taken into an ambulance and driven to the hospital, it’s not clear yet why he was walking on the expressway.

“power was temporarily shut down to the tracks.” Why not just reduce it somewhat, to say, taser levels?
The rail track voltage is usually 25,000V, whereas Taser is actually higher, at 50,000V. The killer difference is not the potential, but the current and the rails are not set up to deliver a low current discharge.
