Here’s something that you might not know: A lot of big Hollywood blockbusters reuse footage from other films to save money on production costs. This was all news to me, until I saw this video from Screen Rant listing a few offenders.

Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, for example, recycles a car chase sequence from his 2005 film The Island. In the offending scene, it features the same highway, the same black car getting demolished, and the same armored car — the only change is that he added a robot to it. It’s so quick that it’s difficult to notice at first.

It makes one wonder how many other films do this. But really, more than anything, it makes painfully literal the complaint that all of Michael Bay’s movies are the same.
