Mysterious ‘Dark Vortex’ the Size of America Discovered on Neptune

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has discovered a huge vortex the size of the USA on Neptune.

The incredible phenomenon is being called a ‘dark vortex’ by scientists and was first glimpsed in space around 22 years ago.

It was seen by both Hubble and Voyager in the 1980s, and now the full extent of the vortex has been uncovered.

The vortex is made up of a huge hole which is teamed with ‘companion clouds’, which are pancake-shaped and are formed when air is diverted up into the vortex.

This can cause gases to freeze and become icicles, explains TIME Magazine.

But this vortex is just the latest strange happening to occur on Neptune, claims UFO investigator team SecureTeam10.

The YouTubers claim that the strange weather isn’t the only odd thing that happens on the mysterious planet.

Tyler Glockner from SecureTeam10 said: “They don’t really know what this thing is.

“This is a planet we need to be studying because besides these massive dark vortexes that are bigger than the United States, there are some very interesting things about Neptune.”
