OOPS! – CIA Forgets To Take A Bomb Off A Kids’ School Bus It Borrowed For Training Over The Weekend

It’s kind of amazing that, for the aura of invincibility and awesomeness it projects, the CIA kinda really sucks at its job.

Like the humans who run it are humans no different than you and me, prone to sloth, laziness, hangovers, boredom, and the what not.

The only difference is, when you make a mistake at work, the fate of human history is not radically altered.

Maybe, you know, we shouldn’t give an agency full of idiots the authority to interfere with the world at their whimsy.

Anyways, the CIA was training some bomb-sniffing dogs over the weekend and for the practice they borrowed some school buses from the local school district and filled them with bombs.

I think you can see where this is going.

They forgot to take one of the bombs off the bus before putting it back in service. To, you know, ferry kids back and forth.

Loudoun schools spokesman Wayde Byard said the CIA indicated the nature of the material but asked the school system not to disclose it. Byard described it as a “putty-type” material designed for use on the battlefield and which requires a special detonator; such putty, or plastic, explosives — including the well-known C-4 — are used in demolition and are considered stable.

The bus was used for two days and made eight trips to different elementary schools before the explosive material was noticed during a maintenance check.

No one was harmed, and as a precaution, the CIA double checked every bus they used after being notified.

The CIA now says all explosive material is accounted for.
