Paramedics Use Incapacitated Patients For ‘Selfie War’

Two Florida paramedics are in trouble for engaging in a “selfie war” by taking pictures with incapacitated patients, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

In what sounds like a lamer version of “Bonnie and Clyde” for the internet age, 24-year-old Kayla Renee Dubois and 33-year-old Christopher Wimmer took selfies with 41 patients, only three of which consented to have their photo snapped as they were strapped to the gurney.

Dubois was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of interception and disclosure of oral communications, Cosmopolitan reports. Arrest warrants have been issued for Wimmer on seven counts of the same charge, which I guess means he was winning. Additionally, Wimmer faces misdemeanor battery charges, as eager to take the best selfie, he peeled an eyelid open of a sedated patient for a photo. The investigation of these two began back in May after other emergency workers began to complain. Dubois was fired and Wimmer resigned shortly thereafter.

This is why I don’t like leaving the house without makeup on. You just never know who’s going to take your photo.
