1. La La Land (2016)

“They had this amazing chemistry throughout the whole movie, they support each other’s dreams, they work hard to make their relationship work while also struggling to accomplish everything they’ve ever wanted…they even have an entire sequence of what their life would’ve looked like together. Then, after all of that, THEY DIDN’T END UP TOGETHER?! It still makes me so upset. I loved that whole movie, but I hated the ending.”

2. I Am Legend (2007)

“Why would they change the original ending…the one that ACTUALLY made sense? Just ugh.”

3. Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)

“How did this one not make the original list??? I enjoyed the movie so much with its humor and action sequences, but then that scene about anal sex at the end was SO unnecessary. The line/joke itself about it was funny, but I despised that they actually end on that shot.”

4. The Turning (2020)

“I saw it in the theater and I loved it so much, but the last, like, 15 seconds essentially upheaved the whole thing!”

5. The Platform (2019)

“It’s a newer film on Netflix so I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen yet, but 90% was this fascinating original concept, very well executed, great acting, great editing and cinematography…but the ending just left the viewer with this giant question mark that didn’t tie any loose ends. I get movies often do this to leave viewers thinking and pondering ‘what if,’ but you still need to give us SOMETHING to make a story feel complete.”

6. Tusk (2014)

“It’s a Kevin Smith horror/comedy. Yes, the whole movie is completely bizarre, but the ending where his friends just LEAVE HIM AS A WALRUS is the most absurd thing I’ve EVER SEEN. That was somehow more absurd than someone kidnapping him, mutilating him, and turning him into a walrus!”

7. Invisible Man (2020)

“I really wish they would have left the audience wondering if it WAS the husband or the brother at the end, and not just outright revealed it was him.”

8. Interstellar (2014)

“Total and absolute B.S.”

9. Mamma Mia! (2008)

“The entire movie is leading up to the impending marriage of this young couple. The setting for the wedding is incredibly beautiful. Then, at the alter, they ditch vows and don’t get married.”

10. The Green Mile (1999)

“This is gonna be controversial, but the ending scenes of this ruined the entire movie for me. I haven’t seen/read a lot of Stephen King’s stuff, so I wasn’t expecting a supernatural element to the movie. I didn’t mind that, but the ending was ridiculous to me.”

11. The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

“I remember when this came out, I absolutely loved it until the ending when they just had, like, a hotel of monsters???”

kaybugg43

12. Toy Story 4 (2019)

“Woody turned his back on literally everything he stood for during the entire series. The whole movie he was fighting to get back to his friends, and then he just decides to leave them forever in the last five minutes.”

abnroche

13. Arrival (2016)

“The ending of this was terrible. The movie was boring and the ‘twist’ was so predictable. I sat through almost two hours of unnecessarily slow, boring stuff waiting for this huge revelation, just for them to reveal that the alien stuff was just happening in the past and they were showing her the future just like I had figured out before the first 30 minutes were over.”

14. Saw (2004)

“The first Saw‘s ending…I was SO angry. Like, seriously, how did NEITHER of the guys in the room see John Kramer breathing? There was no way he was holding his breath that FREAKING long. Just typing this out is making me angry again!”

15. The Notebook (2004)

“Honestly, the couple dying together at the exact same second is what makes the whole movie so incredibly cheesy.”

lblan002

16. He’s Just Not That Into You (2009)

“The entire plot was stated in the title, but NOPE! The very last scene, he decided that he WAS into her. Honestly, screw that movie.”

ihateredroses

17. The Matrix (1999)

“I literally GROANED when it was Trinity’s love that makes Neo the ‘one’ and brings him back from the dead. It’s such a mind-bending, innovative sci-fi film that turned into a sappy romance in a matter of 10 seconds for no reason.”

foxtrotter

18. The Babadook (2014)

“It would have been so much more amazing if they never showed the monster.”

tygerxprince

19. Knowing (2009)

“I hated the ending of this. It had a really good premise, and it followed that premise through some great twists and turns, but the depressing, weird ending ruined it.”

jadem6

20. Grease (1978)

“I know it’s older, but it has bothered me since I was like 8. I love that movie, but in the last scene with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John JUST FLYING AWAY IN A CAR?! Seriously?!”

21. And finally, The Mist (2007)

“This. One. Is. The. Worst. Ending. Scene. EVER!”
