In Glendale, Arizona, a 35-year-old woman and her husband are facing criminal charges after throwing teenagers a party that involved weed, alcohol, a stripper pole, and punch and pie.
According to a local CBS News affiliate, Garett Soliven and his wife Kindrea (see mugshots) invited the impressionable kids over to the house to play drinking/stripping games and swing around on the living room’s prize possession. Photos of the parties had been spotted on Instagram.CBS 5 – KPHO
“I think it’s really sad,” said one neighbor. “We always smelled marijuana, and we told them time and time again.”
When told about the charges brought against the Solivens, the neighbor admitted to being “shocked, but not surprised.”
Garett, meanwhile, faces charges of molestation. His wife is looking at a child abuse charge since she was aware of her husband’s fondling of the teens but didn’t say jack shit about it to authorities. (Though, FWIW, Kindrea told police that the stripper pole was installed not to encourage nakedness but for exercise purposes.)
Kindrea Lea Soliven, 35, faces charges of molestation of a child, sexual conduct with a minor, child abuse and transmitting obscene material to a minor.
Peoria police arrested Soliven’s 45-year-old husband, Garett, earlier this year. He was charged with sex crimes involving children. Soliven reportedly knew about the alleged abuse, according to court documents.
The allegations go back to 2006.
According to the documents, police said the couple hosted parties at their home where they provided alcohol and marijuana to their children and their children’s friends.
“The victim and the suspects were involved in parties, I guess wild parties involving alcohol, drugs and several different lewd acts,” said Officer Isabel Wolfe with the Peoria Police Department.
“There’s a duty to keep that child safe,” said one police spokesperson. “In this case the suspect failed to keep the child safe and failed to protect the child.”
