Police Officers In Hot Water Over Video Of Them Letting Women Twerk On Top Of Their Patrol Car

Apparently in Rochester, New York some people frown upon police officers letting random women climb on their patrol cars and start twerking. Who knew?

Hell, I didn’t even know twerking was still a thing, let alone that cops couldn’t let women do it on their cars.

Seems that’s the case though, because Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli wasn’t very happy about it.

Reports The Daily Mail

He issued a statement saying: ‘We, as leaders of the Department, hold the Rochester Police Department, its uniform and its symbols in the highest regard.

‘We expect all our officers to do the same. Our professionalism, both on- and off-duty are a reflection of all police officers.’

Ciminelli added: ‘Although the RPD personnel did not intend for this to occur, the result was an inappropriate and unacceptable image for the Rochester Police Department. This matter has already been addressed accordingly.’

He said: ‘I don’t think it was targeted or out of disrespect, they just thought it was going to be funny if we do this. None of us found it funny.’

Turns out that the officers were asked by the women if they could dance by the car because they had been denied entry into a nightclub. They thought they were just going to take selfies, not hop on top.

Ralph Gagliano, of the police union, the Rochester Police Locust Club, said: ‘We’re constantly being told it’s important to interact with the public. It was appropriate how he reacted to the situation. His intention was to allow these girls to take a photo in front of the car. They decided to carry on and bring attention to themselves.’

As one person tweeted, “Why is the RPD apologizing? This is the best community outreach they’ve done in months.”

Love it.
