Timothy Brown lived with his father's dead body propped up in an armchair for four months.

A reclusive son named Timothy Brown has let his dead father decompose in the living room for four months while he lived alongside him. He was only discovered when a neighbor called by to check on the pair. To her horror she found 57 year old Timothy sitting next to a skeleton.

Timothys father was called Kenneth and was 94. He died after a small fire ignited in his bedroom, his son put it out and sat his father down in the living to recover from the ordeal. However the next morning he found his father dead, but instead of calling 999 he left him there to rot as he continued living in the house.

Timothy was his fathers sole carer for over ten years after his mother had passed away. The two of them must of been incredibly close and grief can do odd things to people, but this is nothing short of horrific.

A statement from the neighbour said: ‘The back door was open, from the kitchen I could hear the TV was on loudly in the living room. Tim was in there watching TV.

‘I spoke to Tim for a few minutes from the hall, before I opened the door fully. As I looked at the chair I wasn’t sure what I was looking at. I could see a skull, I was very shocked.’

An inquest at Cannock Coroner’s Court heard how medical professionals thought that the body could have been there for up to four months before being discovered. The state of the corps was so poor that a post mortem was unable to ascertain a cause of death.

Timothy told police that he didn’t call 999 because he didn’t want to come to terms with his fathers passing. He was arrested but police decided that it wasn’t in the public interest to prosecute him.
