Volvo has revealed how their autonomous driving interface will look and work with a promotional video for their forthcoming self-driving vehicles.

The IntelliSafe Auto Pilot will not only take over driving duties but also oversee the transfer from auto to manual controls.

Paddles behind the steering wheel will flash when a shift from auto pilot to manual driving is necessary or vice versa. By pulling both paddles simultaneously the driver can switch modes.

Drivers are constantly being fed information, from how much longer autonomous driving will be available to how long the driver has to switch into manual before the vehicle will stop in a safe location automatically.

Volvo boasts of this new technology: “The self-driving Volvo will safely handle every aspect of the driving while you focus on something else. But any time you want comformation that IntelliSafe Auto Pilot is on top of its game, the information is always right there, right in front of you.”
