A high school student in North Carolina was suspended from Pine Forest High School for recording video of a fight with his cell phone.
The school in Fayetteville, North Carolina says he violated student policy. Based on what the video shows, the teen’s mother wants the school to take action against one of its administrators.
It was a free-for-all with fists flying and a cell phone capturing every frame. The footage was shot on Deanthonie Taylor’s cell phone.
“It was just, like, a brawl at the school at the Fish Pond, and it was just crazy,” said Taylor. The video shows Taylor making his way through the crowd. He started taking pictures of Ricky O’Briant – the Safe School Coordinator.
He can be seen pinning a girl on the ground. O’Briant ordered Taylor to stop recording. “I didn’t even hear him,” Taylor said, “He pointed at me and said something, and I didn’t hear what he said, and then he came up and grabbed my phone.”
A video, shot by another student, shows O’Briant doing more than just grab a phone. Taylor is grabbed by his jacket and held down near his neck.
The student manages to slither away, but the 15-year-old jumps at O’Briant, who grabs him by his shirt and tosses him to the ground.
