Jared Fogle, the man who famously lost a bunch of weight by eating poorly constructed sandwiches, allegedly once paid a 16-year-old girl for sex, andattempted to set up a sexual encounter with an underage girl.

According to Business Insider, Fogle sent several text messages to a Subway franchisee that he was in a relationship with, attempting to get the woman to set him up with her underage cousin. As BI’s report states:

“When can we find a time for me to talk to your cousin?” Fogle asks in a message dated May 1, 2008.

“Any more news with your cousin?” he asks the following day. “Tell me what u think about when u think of the three of us all together???”

Earlier, in April, according to the affidavit, Fogle asked the woman, “How young would you like?… Would you want to have an adventure like that?”

On June 19, the lawyer says that Fogle again asked the woman to advertise herself on Craigslist. She responds: “Is this the same website you found that 16 year old girl you that you f*****? …I still can’t believe you only paid $100 for her.”

Fogle responds: “It was amazing!!!!”

She asks: “What part of her ad made you think she was selling sex?”

He says: “U will have to read them to see.”

Gross. The age of consent in Indiana is 16, by the way. Still, gross.

Jared Fogle Subway FBI

According to the woman’s lawyer, she shared these exchanges with Subway back in 2008 after she began to become uncomfortable with Fogle’s requests and behavior. She also claims that Fogle pressured her to advertise herself for sex on Craigslist, saying that he would like to watch and that she could make about $500 per encounter.

Subway denies having any record of the woman’s complaints.

The text messages supposedly come from this woman’s phone, and it all seems pretty legit:

The messages in the affidavit, which the attorney says were recorded from the woman’s phone by a court reporter in 2008 and witnessed and verified by a notary-public official, span from January 2008 to June 2008. Business Insider independently verified the authenticity of the affidavit. We also verified that a phone number in the document was registered to a Jared Fogle.

The woman who provided these text messages claims that she met with Subway management and spoke with them about removing all promotional material associated with Fogle from her store. Her lawyer also says that “She also specifically warned them that he should not be interacting with young people.”

You’ll recall that FBI agents raided Fogle’s home back on July 7, supposedly in connection with a child pornography investigation. The raid was kicked off by a tipster who claimed to have heard Fogle making disturbing comments about young girls while appearing at charity and promotional events at schools in Florida.

Jared Fogle

Fogle still has not been charged with anything, despite the FBI raid taking place nearly a month ago.

Hopefully you don’t eat at Subway, out of general respect for your own mouth, but if you do you might consider stopping since it seems like they knew that the face of their franchise was a pedophile as far back as 2008. Sure, they deny having any record of this, but those texts seem pretty hard to explain away.
