Tom Hanks And Rita Wilson Are Getting Sued Because Of Their Dumb Kid
By all accounts, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson seem like lovely people. As we all learned, Hanks is the kind of guy who will make a drunk kid’s life by posing in a series of great blackout photos. It’s a shame that their son Chester Hanks, aka wannabe rapper Chet Haze, is the worst example of an unruly trust fund brat.
Back in 2015, the then 24-year-old Haze rear-ended a driver named Terry Moogan on a southern California freeway. According to TMZ, Moogan claims that Haze was clearly under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the crash. If you’re thinking that Haze faced actual consequences and got a DUI on his record, think again. Cops never made it onto the scene because Haze begged Moogan not to call them. Of course, he got his way.
Now Moogan is suing Hanks and Wilson because they are the owners of the car and they were allegedly negligent in allowing Haze to drive.
“Despite knowing that Chester Hanks was careless and reckless driver and a habitual user of drugs and alcohol,” claimed the plaintiff, according to E! Online. “They negligently permitted Chester Hanks to operate their vehicle.”
In the suit, Moogan attorneys claim that their client suffered whiplash, a brain injury, and emotional damages. The amount he’s suing for has not been disclosed.
As for Haze, he’s been forthcoming regarding his struggled with drugs and alcohol.
From E! Online:
Ultimately, Chet has opened up about his struggles with addiction. In Instagram videos posted (and deleted) last October, the rapper shared details about his personal life.
“Hey I just want to say, I know, like, my name’s been in the media about me like, going missing or getting kidnapped or something … I’ve been in rehab,” Chet shared online. “I’ve been trying to get my shit together and I’m doing pretty damn good, you know what I’m saying?”
He continued, “I just had to really take a look at myself and my life and the way shit was going and all the crazy, stupid shit I was doing and just finally admit to myself that it wasn’t working and I had to try something new and that thing was to not do any drugs or alcohol.”
You might recall how Haze blamed his cocaine use and the pressure of being the son to famous parents on his rant where he claimed to have the right to use the N-word.
